In this production there were several properties needed that are generally consumables, but needed to be created to last and be reused several runs in a row for a food fight. Additionally, the consumables that we did make could not leave staining on any of the evening wear costumes.

The scenic design of this production was realistic and so both the living space and the kitchen needed to have set dressing full enough to look realistic and well loved. Curated by myself and the Swader scenic team was the following set dressing.

Designer, Asa Benally, wanted to create a train that flowed from the performer's dress that looked natural and organic. Therefore, in the construction of this piece, my job was to create the train out of red burlap, maroon chiffon, and red tulle. I laid all of the individual ribbons out across a work table onto the palest tulle I could find. Then after a lot of careful pinning I used a free motion needle to uphold the natural feel of the garment, but to ensure it's security. It created a gorgeous and voluminous train. Once crafted, three they were all attached to both the dress and each other.
