Created using muslin, paint, steel rods, tie wire, hot glue.
Methods of creation: painting, welding, gluing, and cutting.
The muslin was gridded to match the draftings by Brian Gregoire. The drafting was scaled up to fit the dimensions of the wheelchair and drawn onto the muslin and then painted. Then a frame was created out of steel rods was tacked together by Jay Roberts and myself. The frame was then connected to the whale by cutting slips in the fabric that wrap around the steel and stick by hot glue.
Built a system for the performer to shoot confetti from a cannon (middle) which included constructing a switch system with air pumps (left) and confetti piled on the inside of the bucket.
This is a picture I took of the cyc of which was one of my projects during scene shop. I worked on the arch of which the cyc hangs on. This meant that I was drilling through steel to allow 1/4 inch by 1 1/2 inch hex bolts through the drilled hole to then lock up with a nylock nut. Additionally to hang the arch from the baton we used trim chain with shackles attached to turnbuckles which had one more shackle to then connect aircraft cable which would hook onto the eye bolts which were also drilled into the arch.
